sarryn shapero (they/them) believes our bodies and beings hold wisdom for our ability for healing and connection, and towards collective liberation.
sarryn is a energy worker and somatic therapist living on unceded lands of the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation/Efland-Durham NC. They are a white, non-binary, queer, jewish healer, navigating intersections of trauma, physical, and mental health. sarryn centers an anti-oppression framework in their healing practice, offering trauma informed care for folx of all bodies and experience.
sarryn’s healing lineage includes a grounding in the usui reiki tradition beginning in 2001, and flourishing into an energy work practice that weaves threads from exploration of intuitive senses, deep connection to animals and land, intention, ashkenazi jewish lineage, queerness, animism, biodynamics, buddhist traditions, western psychology, and magic. They are a reiki master/teacher who works individually with clients and trains practitioners.
sarryn’s personal journey, interest and experience working with folx with trauma histories has guided them to expand their practice to offer a form of somatic therapy called Transformative Touch, a practice growing from intersections of feldenkrais, alexander technique, and polyvagal theory.
They are a pisces who seeks to navigate the waters of liberation from racism, colonialism, binaries, gender based and sexual violence, homophobia, fat phobia, ableism, and other harmful forms of structural oppression. They are committed to healing work that is LGBTQI+ affirming, anti-rascist, and holding the complex experience of the body and being with care.
sarryn also works as a milliner making fantastic creations out of felt and also caring for horses. They live in the country making queer family, surrounded by innumerable animal friends nestled in the forest.
